Ferrari at Mugello,Second day,16 Sept 99

Second day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari at Mugello, in preparation for the European
Grand Prix, which takes place on 26th September at the Nurburgring. Once again, both
Eddie Irvine and Mika Salo were driving. The two driver worked on different technical
programmes.

The Finn worked mainly on setting up his car in the morning, before tackling a Grand Prix
distance in the afternoon. He had to make one unscheduled stop, after going straight on into
a gravel trap, but still went the distance. Salo set a best lap time of 1'28"011.

Eddie Irvine continued to test new mechanical and aerodynamic components. The Irish
driver did 64 laps, the best being a 1'27"198. Testing ran from 9h to 18h30 and both
drivers continue testing tomorrow.

COULTHARD STILL LEADS MAGNY-COURS TESTING,16 Sept 99

Magny-Cours : 2nd day testing

For the second day David Coulthard led the test times at Magny-Cours again faster than the
Williams of Ralf Schumacher, with a time only just faster than his best yesterday. His
McLaren team-mate Mika Hakkinen was fourth fastest behind Jordan's Heinz-Harald
Frentzen. Mario Haberfeld run a third McLaren today !

Full test programmes were difficult to complete because of the rain at the French circuit.
